This is a genuine Lozier gondola shelving system part that's used to connect two slotted uprights together and support a 1/4 inch thick pegboard or hardboard back panel. It's installed and attached to the uprite sides using the metal ears or tongues on the ends of the rail. These fit into receiving clips on the sides of the uprights.
