MODULE MAIN CONTROLLER

2-MCMN
The 2-MCMN Network Main Controller Module is the foundation of
the EST2 Network and contains the principal microprocessor and
controls for the fire alarm system.
The 2-MCMN has two RS-485 ports to provide Class A (Style 6) and
Class B (Style 4) communications for the EST2 network; 2-LSRAs; 2-
SMDNs; and SAN Annunciators. SAN annunciators include the ISP-96
series annunciator/switch panels and the SAN-CPU.
The 2-MCMN also has an RS-232 port to provide communications for
a PT-1S Printer. An RJ-12 jack provides a means for downloading
programmed data from an IBM compatible computer to the 2-MCMN.
All external connections are transient protected.
Caution: Any wiring that exits one building and enters another requires
a Ditek surge protector module at each end.
The 2-MCMN provides one multiplexed Signature Data Circuit (SDC)
and two Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs). The SDC and the
NACs operate on Class A or Class B wiring. The SDC can support 96
Signature Series detectors and 94 Signature Series modules. The NACs
have separate input terminals; which are rated at 24 VDC @ 3.5A or
100W @ 25 Vrms or 70 Vrms audio. The NAC terminals may share
power or be fed from an external source.
During alarm; supervisory; and trouble conditions the 2-MCMN relay
contacts close to report the off-normal conditions. There are two Form
C relays and a Form A relay. The Form C relays operate on 24 VDC;
nominal @ 1A and handle alarm and trouble conditions. The Form A
relay operates on 24 VDC; nominal @ 1A; and handles supervisory
conditions.
The 2-MCMN provides dedicated connectors for the DL2 and the
2-ISO.
