PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
The OX-701818 (Oxford Alloy) is a professional-grade E7018 electrode, widely regarded as the "workhorse" of the structural welding industry. This 1/8" low-hydrogen rod is specifically designed to prevent cold cracking in high-stress applications like bridges, pressure vessels, and heavy machinery. The iron powder in the flux coating allows for a more efficient metal transfer, resulting in a cleaner weld bead and easier slag removal compared to standard rods. It operates best on DCEP (reverse polarity) but can also be used on AC. To maintain its low-hydrogen properties, these electrodes are typically supplied in a hermetically sealed container and should be stored in a rod oven once opened.
