PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
The OX-7018532 (Oxford Alloy) is a 5/32" diameter E7018 electrode designed for rapid metal deposition on thick plate and heavy-duty structural steel. This larger diameter rod is the standard choice for fill and cap passes in bridge construction, shipbuilding, and pressure vessel fabrication. The iron powder in the low-hydrogen flux coating ensures a very stable arc with minimal spatter and a high deposition rate, significantly increasing productivity. Because it is a low-hydrogen electrode, it is essential for preventing hydrogen-induced cracking in high-carbon and high-strength steels. These electrodes should be stored in a rod oven to maintain their low-hydrogen properties once the hermetically sealed can is opened.
