Southern Supplies Limited donates 13 mobility scooters to the National Centre for Persons with Disabilities

2008 Southern Supplies Limited donated 13 electric mobility scooters and power chairs to the NCPD, National Centre for Persons of Disability.

The National Centre for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) is a non-governmental agency (NGO) which promotes equalization for persons with disabilities through training, information, research and consultative services.

Their mission is to provide persons with disabilities with effective and efficient training and rehabilitative services that enhance the quality of their lives and promote their integration into the wider community.

National Centre for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) is committed to equality of opportunities in the administration of its educational/training programmes for individuals. It conducts its assessment and awarding process in a manner that does not discriminate against a trainee or a prospective trainee, and apprentice on the grounds of disability (type and degree), race, age, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, ethnic origin or marital status. Southern Supplies limited in an effort to assist the NCPD donated 13 state of the art electric mobility scooters and power chairs to 13 persons in need of mobility assistance. Southern Supplies Limited believes in giving back to the community and where it is needed most. These vehicles would aid those persons who are unable in one way or another to be mobile with less effort. The chairs and scooters are battery operated rechargeable, self powered
vehicles which allow users to safely and efficiently mobilize indoors and outdoors.

The facilities of the SSL group of companies, available to the public, were constructed with the disabled in mind. Wheel chair ramps, escalators and elevators are present where needed.
