Grand B-B-Q Fundraiser - In Aid of Sandiya Mangra

Hello Everyone. On the 3rd June, 2016, the SSL Group of Companies held a Fundraiser to assist our Colleague, Mr. Rakesh Mangra, who’s precious daughter, Sandiya, suffers from Nephrotic Syndrome.

Firstly, we would like to give you all an update on her condition, as we have had many concerned calls and messages asking about her status. Sandiya visited the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital in Orlando in June and underwent a series of tests, under the special care of Pediatric Nephrologist, Mr. Jorge Ramirez. She has been prescribed new medication, at adjusted doses, to fit her current condition. Her parents have been trained on how to administer and adjust her medication, based on how she responds. As of this week, she is doing well and her swelling has improved. Nephrotic Syndrome does not have an overnight fix and you sometimes have to wait it out to see how one responds to the medicine prescribed. Once the meds work, as is expected by her Doctors, eventually the doses and types etc would be reduced and the long term goal and wish is that her Kidneys can function well without them.

Sandiya is scheduled for a Follow Up Visit at the Children’s Hospital in September, where her progress would continue to be monitored. We continue to pray for her and wish her the very best!

Secondly, the Family of Sandiya, as well as the SSL Group of Companies, would like to THANK EVERYONE, who in anyway contributed to the success of this event, whether it be through your prayers, well wishes, donations or ticket purchases. We were all blown away by the response received and are truly grateful. Special thanks to those Corporate Sponsors such as Trinpad, who printed all the Tickets Free of Charge and MSM Studios, for all the Banners. There were many other Companies, Groups, Families and Offices that reached out to show their support! It is very difficult to name them all, but we say thank you again so very much.

This past Tuesday, we were paid a special visit by the most adorable Sandiya and her amazing parents. She was on hand to award tokens of appreciation to the Winners of an Internal Competition we had for the Person selling the most tickets for the Fundraiser. Understandably, she was a bit overwhelmed by the HEAPS of attention that was showered upon her, but we were all just very happy to have her around, safe and sound.

We would like to share some pictures of the event day, the visit and the prize giving with you all..
